The 14 peaks documentary was filled with trill and showed us the life of a person who persevered through all the challenges he faced in life. The whole documentary was about a man named Nimsdai Puja who is a fearless mountaineer from Nepal. From the beginning to the end of the documentary I witness the courage and determination of a single man through all the trials and tribulations in his life. Nimsdai lived the life of many others who dream of the things he does every day, but little to nobody actually has the courage to get up and reach for their goals. Watching this documentary is more than just learning about the story of this man and the experiences he went through it is a piece of work that can motivate all who watch it. We all sit on our dreams and never give up some time to complete them but after watching this documentary and witnessing what Nimsdai did in such a short amount of time it puts together the thought that any goal is possible it just matters how much effort your willing to put in. I feel inspired to do something with my life after watching this documentary. I always wanted to go skydiving, so after watching this documentary I am inspired to follow my dreams and hopefully do that goal within the next year. I also learned that goals can be for more than personal gain, they can be used to help others too along the way. Nimsdai’s goal to summit all 14 peaks in just 7 months was more than just a personal goal that he wanted to accomplish. Nimsdai wanted this so badly for more than himself, it was to show how people who help westerners climb all these peaks need more appreciation because they are the real reason why so many people are able to accomplish their own goals. Seeing how Nimsdai is doing all this for others inspires me to be a better person for everyone who does not have the same privileges as me.
The documentary 14 peaks is more than just the story of a man summiting mountains, it has connections to mathematics as well. The majority of the planning involves mathematics, and all of this math has to be as accurate as possible because it can determine whether or not Nimsdai can achieve his goal in the time he has. Timing this trip was very crucial because each mountain had a certain time-space where people could actually climb it, so putting the dates together accordingly was very important. Also figuring out what supplies would be needed during this trip was very important because if they ran out during the trip they would lose time due to an unplanned supply run. Publicizing to gain awareness for what they were doing is very important if Nimsdai wanted to get his message to everyone. His social media team has to study algorithms and patterns that surface throughout social media and they have to take advantage of those, so that people can see his end goal and what he is trying to achieve.
