The Sadness Experienced By Hamlet

Updated: Jan 10, 2022

Hamlet was a play that was filled with sadness from the beginning, these experiences dwelled on Hamlet because of the loss of his father and the loss of his mother to another man. It is easy to see that the loss of his mother’s love has driven Hamlet crazy more than his father passing away. This is true because Hamlet has always been a Mama’s boy and loving his mother to another man makes him feel like the love he once had has been taken away from him. Throughout the story, it is quite clear that Hamlet is slowly losing sanity because he is unable to cope with the loss of his mother, evidence of this is clear because he is talking to himself quite a lot and he does not know how to act. There were more places throughout the poem that showed clear evidence of sadness. Ophelia goes crazy once she finds out that her father has passed away, and all of this was the downfall of these powerful families. Losing family members is quite tough on everyone and for Ophelia, she took it rough. Even though sadness was present throughout this play, the way people took these occurrences made it seem a lot worse.

Watching another man slowly loses his sanity during his life is a hard thing to watch personally. I wish everyone had people out there for them to help cope with all their problems because we all need people to have a hand to help us back up when we are knocked down. If Hamlet had a friend to help him cope with his mother’s loss I would believe that all of these moments that happened would have been avoided. Help is what everyone needs in a rough time during their lives, and lending a hand is what will make people feel better when they need help the most.
